* Help your team-mates out when you can - both here at LMHS and afterwards. Life can be tough. Be there to help. 

The LMHS Speech & Debate team has always been a welcoming and smart group of cool people who have a great time hanging out and debating.

Many alumni have referred to it as a friend group that often survives past high school and serves as a source of networking and support later in life.  

Here are our rules that have always been unspoken till now. 

* No Ad Hominem Attacks -- ever. Respect each other.

* Have a good time. Learn, but have a good time. Stress less is a good motto. Every debate is a win. You only lose if you don't learn anything. 

Be Cool Rules

* If you feel the need to self-medicate life's stressors away with drugs, you need to hang out somewhere else. No bueno. We still like you, but you can't hang with us sadly. Drug use is corrosive and messes too many things up. Please consider stopping if you've already tried it.  We care about you, so don't hurt yourself with drugs.

* Respect people's differences -- be cool.

* Mentor the youth. Freshies really need help.

* Your language reflects your personality, but it also reflects the team.  Realize words have a time and place just like anything else.  Keep it classy while keeping it fun.  Time and place....

* Be forgiving and helpful.  Help, don't hurt.
